Qatar is a small country that sits on a peninsula in the Middle East that is quickly becoming a top tourist destination given the bustling nature of its capital city Doha and the year round tourism season.  In fact, the weather is great just about any time but the mid-summer when the heat gets very high because during Qatar’s cold months most Britons would be baking anyhow.

Doha is a primary stop for those who want to check out the Middle Eastern souks given the fact that it sports plenty of great markets including the Souk Wakif which has just finished renovations that allow it to host shops that offer everything including artifacts, materials, honey, perfumes, and spices.  During the night this area also bounces to life with plenty of restaurants and coffee shops catering to those who want to try the local flavors and flavors from back home.

Outside of the souks Doha also has plenty to offer in its malls which are full of designer shops although those used to Western malls may be surprised as each offers their own themed attractions somewhat like Las Vegas in addition to the stores.  For example, the Villagio shopping mall has a canal that runs right through its middle with gondola rides available and the City Centre Mall is built around a massive Ice Rink that can be seen from all five floors of the shopping complex.

There is plenty to do for those who are not shoppers as well as dune safari treks are popular and available just outside of the city.  Other tempting activities include an Arabian BBZ by horse, camping along the inland sea, or simply taking in a camel race.
